How to Get Poe 2 Divine Orbs - Poe2gold.com
Divine Orbs are one of several endgame items in Path of Exile 2 that you can use in crafting, though they're more often used as currency. In fact, they've become the gold standard in trading high-quality endgame equipment, so collecting them is essential if you want to trade for those items. This how-to guide will tell you how to find some for yourself.
Where to Find Divine Orbs
Divine Orbs drop randomly from enemies you defeat in high-tier maps or at the end of the campaign. They're extremely rare, but you can increase your chances of finding them by wearing equipment with the "X% increased rarity of items found" modifier. The effect of that modifier is hotly debated, with numerous player tests yielding negligible results.
Still, the in-game tooltip for rarity specifically mentions that currency items (like Divine Orbs) do have a hidden rarity trait, which should indicate that they're affected by the item rarity modifier. No doubt, GGG will continue to refine the balance of rarities and drop chances as the game moves through Early Access into a full release.
A more reliable method of obtaining Divine Orbs is to trade gear on the Path of Exile 2 Trade website: Poe2gold. Items with the right combination of modifiers can sell for anywhere from one to two to several dozen Divine Orbs.
You can also use the POE 2 Currency Exchange to obtain Divine Orbs. As of the writing of this article, they trade for 118 Exalted Orbs, but they fluctuate anywhere from 95 to 130. You can actually make significant profits by buying low and selling high.
How to Use Divine Orbs
You use a Divine Orb just like any other crafting orb in Path of Exile 2. You simply select it and then select the item you want to apply it to. It'll then reroll all the numeric values of any modifiers on an item.
Divine Orbs only reroll the values of a modifier; they won't change their tier. For example, the T2 "Sprinter's" prefix that adds 15% movement speed to boots will always add 15%. A Divine Orb couldn't upgrade it to the "Cheetah's" T5 prefix that gives 30%. Divine Orbs only reroll the value of modifiers; they don't change their tier.
Divine Orbs do have one unique use case though, and that's in upgrading unique items to their newly buffed versions as of patch 0.1.1. When GGG released the patch, they released several upgrades to unique items. By applying a Divine Orb to any of the several unique items that were impacted, you can start using their new version.
